"The Witch is Dead! The Witch is Dead!"
Frank Allnutt

In the uncanny aftermath of one of the most destructive tornadoes in history, America’s Wizard of Oz reports to the world that Usama bin Laden—the Wicked Witch of the East—has been killed at his behest! Which, the Wizard indicates, proves that the Land of Oz is the nation’s destiny and that it can be realized in our lifetime—if only all of us will just follow him down the yellow brick road, as he dispatches all those other witches that stand in the way of his progression.

Architects of Oz

Henry Kissinger
believes the Wizard of Oz can transform America and the world into the Land of Oz. When the former Secretary of State and leading architect of the New World Order appeared on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” in early January 2009, host Erin Burnett asked him what international conflict would define the Barack Obama administration’s foreign policy. Kissinger responded:

“The president-elect is coming into office at a moment when there is upheaval in many parts of the world simultaneously. You have India, Pakistan; you have the jihadist movement. So he can’t really say there is one problem, that it’s the most important one. But he can give new impetus to American foreign policy partly because the reception of him is so extraordinary around the world. His task will be to develop an overall strategy for America in this period when, really, a new world order can be created. It’s a great opportunity, it isn’t just a crisis.”

Other Oz hopefuls cite additional real-world obstacles along the yellow brick road to the Emerald City.

Zbigniew Brzezinski, former National Security Advisor to the President, is the Democrat’s “Kissinger” in their common quest with Republicans to bring about a New World Order. Brzezinski considers religion and nationalism to be enemies of the New World Order. In his 1969 book, Between Two Ages: America’s Role in the Technetronic Era, Brzezinski wrote:

“[The] gradual shaping of a community of the developed nations would be a realistic expression of our emerging global consciousness; concentration on disseminating scientific and technological information would reflect a more functional approach to man’s problems; both the outlook that would gradually replace the institutionalized religious, ideological, and intensely national perspectives that have dominated modern history.”

Lesser known Brock Chisolm, when director of the United Nations World Health Organization, used more direct and forceful language to convey the same New World Order strategy: “To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism, and religious dogmas.” (Cited by Tal Brooke in an article on the New World Order in the Summer 1991 edition of SCP Journal.)

“There’s no place like home”

Meanwhile, the “Dorothies” of last week’s tornadoes in the south east have not been transported to Oz. Yet they are misplaced in their time of heart-breaking sorrow, suffering, and loss, and in a way share Dorothy’s painful memories and longing for home. To them, however, Dorothy’s sweet realization that “There’s no place like home” also has an unpleasant taste, for they have no structural place called “home” to return to.

But, “fear not,” encourages the Wizard of Oz, “Just follow me down the yellow brick road and I will lead you out of the Haunted Forest. Along the way I will destroy all the wicked witches and evil flying monkeys that stand in our way. I will be your faithful guide to the Emerald City, where I will ensure that everyone in the Land of Oz will live in security and comfort.”

Many Americans place their hope for change in the Wizard of Oz because they claim unalienable rights to his promises of universal equality and pleasures, and that by placing their faith in him they will surely live happily ever after.

Of course, there are skeptics.

And a small number of us—no more than a Remnant—know who really lurks behind the curtain in the control center of the Emerald City, and we follow another story line by the very Author of Destiny who heals the broken-hearted and gives hope to the downtrodden.
