That question was asked—and answered—by conservative radio commentor Dennis Prager in his March 3, 2009 web column.

Prager’s conclusion is that there are two human species. He implies that there is the one that most “good” people identify with and the other one that most “bad” people belong to. Commenting on the latter, Prager writes, “That is what I now believe: There are monsters in human form.”

Most anthropologists and evolutionists will argue that, while there were other human species in times past, there is but one evolved human species in the world today and that all races, while distinct from one another in appearance, such as skin color, nevertheless belong to one species.

The Bible has a different explanation.
